FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Qualifiers: Romania Beats North Macedonia 3-2

Romanian National Football Team beat 3-2 North Macedonia in a game played in Bucharest on National Arena on Thursday, March 25. In the same group, Germany beat Iceland with 3-0, while Liechtenstein lost in a game versus Armenia, played at home, 0-1.

Romania started very well and it lead after the first half with 1-0, after Florin Tanase scored. In min. 50 Mihaila scored the second goal and his first while playing for the national team and the game seemed to have a clear winner.

North Macedonia didn’t give up, though, and it scored twice in 2 minutes, 82 and 83, equalizing the result. Luckily for the home team, Ianis Hagi scored 2 minutes later to offer a very big victory and 3 points for Romania. It’s also the first goal of Ianis Hagi while playing for the national team and Ianis can start scoring goals for Romania in the next games, exactly like his father, world famous football player Gheorghe Hagi, did when he was playing.

The next game for Romania is a much more difficult one, against Germany, at home, in Bucharest, on Sunday. After that game, Romania will play away with Armenia on Wednesday, March 31.
