Costinești, Romania – The Beach Please festival, already infamous for last year’s on-stage weed-smoking scandal, has been rocked by a new controversy that’s left parents and fans outraged.
This time, the drama unfolded when American rapper Destroy Lonely pressured a 15-year-old fan to jump off the stage, ending in a terrifying fall and a trip to intensive care.
What Happened?
The shocking incident unfolded during Destroy Lonely’s much-anticipated performance at Beach Please. Among the thousands of fans was 15-year-old Nicolas, who attended the festival with his mother’s consent. Eager to meet his idol, Nicolas managed to catch the rapper’s attention by showing a message on his phone, asking if he could join him on stage. To his delight, Destroy Lonely agreed and invited him up, much to the crowd’s excitement.
However, what began as a dream moment quickly turned into a nightmare. Once on stage, Nicolas was encouraged by Destroy Lonely to jump back into the crowd, a classic “stage dive” move. But the teenager was hesitant, repeatedly telling the artist he didn’t want to jump. Instead of respecting his wishes, Destroy Lonely continued to pressure him, even grabbing Nicolas by the hoodie and physically nudging him toward the edge of the stage.
“You’re going to jump! I need you to jump back to the fans! Are you ready?”

The pressure became too much, and Nicolas lost his balance. He fell from a height of over two meters, landing hard on a metal barricade that separated the stage from the audience.
The impact was severe. Emergency medical teams rushed to his aid, and he was quickly transported to the intensive care unit at Constanța County Hospital. Doctors later confirmed he suffered a lung contusion, injuries to his liver and kidneys, as well as wounds to his leg and severe pain in his shoulder.
What was supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a young fan ended in tragedy, leaving festival-goers and the public in shock.
Outrage and Aftermath
The incident sparked immediate and widespread outrage across social media and the public. Fans and parents alike were horrified that a young teenager could be pushed into such a dangerous situation by an artist who should have been responsible and respectful. Video footage of the fall quickly went viral, fueling a storm of criticism directed squarely at Destroy Lonely.
Festival organiser Andrei Șelaru, known as Selly, did not hold back in condemning the rapper’s actions. He described the behaviour as “irresponsible” and “unacceptable,” especially coming from a seasoned performer who should understand the risks involved. Selly announced that, effective immediately, no fans would be allowed on stage at Beach Please – even if invited by artists – to prevent any repeat of this dangerous episode.
“We condemn Destroy Lonely’s gesture and believe it was irresponsible, especially given his experience. From today, no participant will be allowed on stage, even if invited by artists.”
