Nicki Minaj Cancels Her Performance at SAGA Festival

Nicki Minaj disappoints again. This time, her Romanian fans were waiting for her to perform at the SAGA Festival in Bucharest.

This comes after disappointing her fans in Dublin on Saturday, July 6. According to the Irish Independent, Nicki Minaj fans who attended her Dublin concert last night are calling for a full refund after what some described as “the worst concert ever.” The star left them waiting in the rain as she turned up late and then played for under an hour.

Nicki Minaj announced her decision to cancel her trip to Romania for the SAGA Festival appearance on her X account. She mentioned “security concerns due to protests in the area,” yet no protests were announced for Sunday evening in Bucharest, not in the city nor near the festival area.

Out of concern for the well-being of our team and myself, I have been advised by my security detail not to travel to Romania’s festival tonight due to safety concerns regarding protests in the area. I look forward to seeing you all at another time. As a mom, I have to make sure I’m making sound decisions for me to make it home to my son and for my team to make it home to their families. To not heed the advice of security at this time is simply not what I think I should be doing. I love you and thank you for your understanding and support. I am very excited to see my fans this Friday in London for another very special headlining show at Wireless Festival.

This is a huge disappointment for the SAGA Festival fans and for her Romanian fans as well. Her decision comes after Hardwell decided to cancel his show on stage on the first day of the festival, angry with him for not getting paid and accusing the low quality of the sound equipment.

Yet, Nicki’s decision is controversial and she either has to fire her security detail or her PR team. Bucharest is quiet and a lot safer than London or any other American city she will have concerts in as a mother.
