24th of June: The Universal Day of the Romanian Blouse, a world event

Every year, on June 24, it’s celebrated the Universal Day of the Romanian Blouse (in Romanian it is called ,,ie’’), a symbol of authenticity and national identity of the Romanian space.

Internationally, Universal Day of the Romanian Blouse is celebrated in over 100 cities around the world such as Washington, New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Paris, London, Madrid, Amsterdam, Milan etc. Moreover, people from over 50 countries around the world have dressed the blouse in this special day. The popularity of the traditional Romanian blouse has grown so much in the last time that it has become a source of inspiration for international fashion designers.

At the same time, the Romanians celebrate the birth of Saint John the Baptist and ,, Sanzienele’’, the summer solstice!
