The presidents of Romania and the United States of America, Klaus Iohannis and Donald Trump, adopted in Washington a joint statement regarding the strengthening of relations between the two states and their bilateral relations in the future.
,,The natural gas resources in Romania have the potential to increase the prosperity of the states, as well as to strengthen the energy security of Europe, therefore the partnerships on the energy field will be strengthened. Also, Romania is committed to working with the US to combat cyber security raised by Chinese providers regarding 5G networks. ”according to President Trump. Also he said that he wants to expand ties between the two countries by supporting Romania’s efforts to become eligible under the Visa Waiver program, in line with US law.
“As the Presidents of the United States and Romania, we stand together as friends and Allies to advance our robust and durable strategic partnership. Through our strong partnership, we will create new opportunities for greater security, growth, and prosperity and be in better position to respond to shared global challenges and responsibilities.” reads the statement. Also, the statement recalls the 1989 Revolution and the 15th anniversary of Romania’s accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. (NATO)
