Transylvania Included in Nat Geo’s “Destinations on the Rise 2021”

National Geographic issued the list of the best trips for future planning. This year might have been totally compromised, but 2021 is seen as a revival for tourism and an opportunity to live life as it should be.

Destinations such as Katmai National Park from Alaska, which opens the list, Dominica or Guam, exotic but well-known for travelers from all over the world, are completed this year with secluded destinations, such as Svaneti Region from Georgia or with picturesque and legendary destinations such as Transylvania, a mythical realm described by Bram Stoker as a “cursed spot, from this cursed land, where the devil and his children still walk with earthly feet”.

Devil’s place or not, Transylvania is a region which made even Prince Charles fell in love with it and which made TV producers like Charley Ottley to realize beautifully crafted TV series about these places, such as Flavours of Romania or Wild Carpathia.

Brasov, with its “Dracula’s Castle” and Cluj-Napoca, with its cosmopolite atmosphere are mentioned, but we know for sure that Transylvania, and Romania altogether, are worthwhile visiting in 2021.

And, to help you get a flavor of Romania even now, when the travel is not allowed at its fullest, travel apps can help you discover now what you could visit later, in 2021.

Our recommendation for you is a platform called Visit Bucharest Today!, along with its dedicated Android app, which will help you see the attractions from Romania’s capital city, but also attractions which can be discovered in one day trips from Bucharest, such as many places from Transylvania, including Dracula’s castle or Sighisoara medieval city.
