Romanian PM Fakes Planting Tree in Front of Journalists

Romanian PM, Ludovic Orban, is a political figure who has already upset the Romanian ecologists. He stated that Romania, one of the country where forest rangers are killed and millions of trees are illegally cut and sold abroad over the years, is an importer of wood and not an exporter.

Also, while Romanians flooded social media with videos of trucks fully loaded with woods cut during pandemic lockdown, he declared that no tree was cut and no tree was sold abroad during lockdown.

This time, his ‘love’ for nature reached new heights: during a ceremony on Sunday, he was invited to plant a tree. The funny part was that the tree was already planted and had deep roots. Ludovic Orban even checked it and tried to pull the already erected tree out of the hole in the ground, but he couldn’t. He certainly realized the fact that he is about to fake planting it, but he still continued the ceremony as planned.

It was proved that the organizers only dig around an already planted tree and after that invited the PM to fake it in front of the journalists.

After the ceremony was over, the PM received applause for his gesture. Hopefully, the tree will survive the ‘PR stunt” of the Romanian PM who celebrates his birthday on Monday, May 25.
