Romania’s Qualifying Matches for Euro 2024

Romania’s national football team will compete against Switzerland, Israel, Kosovo, Belarus, and Andorra in group 1 of the UEFA 2024 European Football Champion’s qualifying round.

UEFA 2024 matches have been announced, but not without dilemmas for some countries. But one thing is for sure, Romania will need to finish as one of the top two teams in its group to qualify for the Euro 2024 together with the automatically qualified host, Germany.

On March 25, 2023, Romania will play Andorra in its inaugural game, then with Belarus three days later, and face Switzerland and Kosovo in June. In September, Israel will be Romania’s final opponent. Will the Romanian national team be prepared?

However, there are some dilemmas concerning Romania’s match with Kosovo. The national team’s upcoming Euro 2024 qualifying games against Kosovo, a nation that Romania does not recognize, have prompted the organization that oversees Romanian football to say that it will speak with the government about the matter.

According to UEFA regulations, two nations engaged in political conflict cannot be placed in the same qualifying group. This holds for Kosovo, along with Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. UEFA and FIFA have recognized Kosovo as a member since 2016, although this hasn’t resolved all of the country’s political challenges.

The most important aspect regarding this championship is not the dispute between Romania and Kosova, it is the level of preparation of the Romanian team and if it is ready to perform on this occasion, although it was relegated to League C recently, after the match with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
