After being the co-host of the UEFA EURO 2021 Football Championship (the former EURO 2020 was postponed because of the Coronavirus pandemic), Romania could host another European football tournament.
According to the Romanian Football Federation, the European football federation, UEFA, announced the Romanian Federation on Thursday that its candidature for organizing the UEFA U21 Football Championship was accepted.
The Romanian U21 team reached the semi-final of the UEFA U21 Championship in 2019 for the first time in history. During the current qualifications for the final tournament, Romania is three games away from reaching the final tournament.
A final decision on the host of the U21 Football Championship will be taken in December this year.
