Against the background of the COVID-19 pandemic, more and more Romanians are losing their jobs. According to Erste specialists, Romania will reach a new unemployment record in 2021: 8.5%, after 5.9% in 2020, and 3.9 in 2019.
Despite the gloomy forecasts, Urgent Cargus announces that by the end of the year the company will employ over 1000 people.
Urgent Cargus is one of the largest courier companies in Romania. At the moment, the company has over 5,000 employees, 60 sorting and storage centers, and a fleet of over 2,600 courier vehicles.
“The recent context has led to significant changes in the size and structure of volumes managed by Urgent Cargus. The uncertainty generated by the COVID-19 context leading consumers to focus on online shopping. We are fast approaching the annual peak generated by courier companies’ volumes, which is why we continue to invest in streamlining operational processes and improving the quality of services by strengthening the team, “said Diana Gheorghe, director of operations at Urgent Cargus.
At the same time, the company specified that the company’s volumes increased by over 30% during the pandemic and isolation periods. During Black Friday there are expected a number of orders that will exceed with more than 65% of the volumes transported in a normal month.
The employments will be made in Bucharest, Brasov, Timisoara, Arad, Oradea, Sibiu, Cluj, Iasi and Constanta.
