Cyprus Ambassador to Romania Found Dead in Bucharest

Cyprus Ambassador to Romania, H.E. Mr. Filippos KRITIOTIS, was found dead in his residence in Bucharest. The police has opened a case for suspicious death, which is standard procedure in Romania taking into account the circumstances and the diplomatic rank of the deceased.

According to sources, the death occurred on Saturday night, possible from natural causes. The ambassador’s body is currently examined at the mortuary to find out more about the circumstances of the tragic event.

Mr. Filippos Kritiotis was 62 years old and he was appointed ambassador to Romania in July 2019.
