COVID-19: Bucharest enters red scenario after Romania’s Capital exceeded 3 infections per thousand inhabitants over the last 14 days. The authorities imposed the mandatory wearing of masks in public spaces, indoor and outdoor.
In the same time, restaurants, cinemas and theaters close their doors again. Restaurants were opened less than three weeks ago, after being closed for more than 6 months. Hospitality industry remains one of the most affected in Romania and, according to the unions, tens of thousand hospitality workers could lose their jobs.
Bucharest city dwellers are to wear masks whenever they exit their homes, otherwise they are passible to be fined. The Romanian public emergency system already issued warnings in Romanian and English announcing these measures on smartphones.
The authorities re-evaluate the evolution of the infection rate in 14 days to maintain or to relax them.
