Bucharest Marathons in 2022 Return to Original Dates

This year, the Bucharest Marathons are some of the most anticipated sports events by Romanians and foreigners in Romania. Marathon unites different people through sports and through the fun of competing, being an event loved by adults and children. Besides, not only the professionals are allowed to compete, but also the amateurs in the so-called “popular races”.

As Visitbucharest.today announced, the Bucharest Half Marathon and Marathon will return to their original dates this season after being delayed last year until the fall due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The OMV Petrom Bucharest HALF MARATHON will take place on May 7-8, 2022, while the Raiffeisen Bank Bucharest MARATHON will take place on October 8-9, 2022.

The Bucharest MARATHON is Romania’s most remarkable public sporting event, benefiting more than 30 charitable organizations. As a result, the event’s reputation is being used to boost the town’s social and economic standing. Similarly, the Bucharest HALF MARATHON emerged as a natural sibling to the Marathon, with a similar social and economic impact on the city.

Following the end of the pandemic, the events in Romania’s capital will return to their original dates in the summer/autumn of 2022.

In a turbulent year with many ups and downs, Bucharest RUNNING CLUB proves that it can organize two running events at the highest safety standards. Our goal is to see us again with enthusiasm and motivation at the starting line on May 8 and October 9 and to conquer the streets of Bucharest together.

Valeria Racila van Groningen, President of Bucharest RUNNING CLUB.

A children’s race will be held at this year’s Bucharest Half Marathon and Marathon. The races are free, with no recorded timings or rankings so children can learn traits like fairness, initiative, and self-confidence through sports.

Due to the current international context, any Ukrainian runner will receive complimentary registration from the Bucharest RUNNING CLUB, regardless of their race.

The Bucharest Half Marathon and Marathon are back in full force this summer. Still, for those interested in learning more about these events and planning a trip to Bucharest, on Visitbucharest.today platform can find the necessary information on last year’s Marathon, lodging, transportation, and other Bucharest attractions, that can be extremely useful.

In terms of social involvement, Bucharest Running Club’s partnership with GivenGain.com, which began this year, regularly supports runners and causes that benefit from international exposure. As a result, the Bucharest Half Marathon and Marathon will join the likes of the Boston, New York, Chicago, London, Paris, and Athens Marathons in using this technology.

The results of a survey conducted by Quantix Marketing Insights to better understand the motivations of runners participating in the #RunInBucharest events, as well as their satisfaction with various aspects of the races, are as follows:

  • Each examined attribute (registration procedure, online and offline promotion, picking up the competition kit, event website, social networking sites, T-shirt) has a high level of satisfaction in the stages of event preparation.
  • During the competition, the competitors place the most outstanding value on the volunteers’ support, first-aid services, and the route;
  • After the run, the competitors place the most outstanding value on the precision of the timing procedure, the medal, and the layout of the Arrival area.

This race is fresh air for marathon runners, especially following a particularly challenging period. Such projects are warmly welcomed in Romania’s capital, and their implementation boosts participation in outdoor activities. As a result, even if you have never run a marathon before, you should give these two a try for enjoyment.
