New Conditions to Enter Romania: Negative PCR Test, Quarantine for Unvaccinated

On Monday, December 6, Romanian authorities decided that those who enter Romania must present a PCR test, made with a maximum of 48 hours.

Romanian citizens who enter the country from a non-EU state without having a negative test will be required to enter a quarantine of 14 days. People who have not been vaccinated and have not been infected with Covid-19 in the last six months, traveling from the other EU Member States in the red zone, will be quarantined for ten days.

Authorities also announced a “passenger locator form” introduced on December 20. This form will facilitate the authorities’ work, as it will let them know where a person infected with Covid-19 is and the people they have come in contact with.

The authorities have implemented these restrictions due to the new variant of Covid, Omicron.
