NATO 2019 Summit in London has just finished, but it echoes persist. Apart from the meeting itself, where part of the mutual statement invoked the well known article 5 of the Treaty (All for one principle is applied in case of military aggression), YouGov conducted an interesting study.
On short, they asked the citizens from the Western countries if they are willing to enter a war against the aggressor of another country, if that country is military attacked.
The study revealed that only 32% of the German people and 32% of the French people would enter a war if Romania is attacked, the rest of them considering if appropriate to fight for Romania or not willing to fight at all. What is most surprising is that the majority of the questioned people answered they would fight for Finland or Sweden, which are not part of NATO.
Despite the opinion of the German and French, both the Americans and the British are willing to defend Romania if attacked by another country.
