Romania has a right-wing government

Those 16 ministers of the new Romanian Government, led by Ludovic Orban, the president of the Liberal Party, have just sworn in and from tomorrow they will start implementing the new governing program.

The liberal government replaces the social-democratic one, ousted following a no-confidence motion voted last month in the Parliament. It is the first time during the mandate of the current Romanian president, Klaus Werner Iohannis, when the government is from the right, the same as the president’s political views.

The priorities of the new government are preparing the country for the winter, in terms of natural gas reserves, drafting the budget for the next year and sending a nomination for EU commissioner, as Romania is one of the 3 countries not yet having a commissioner within the European Commission.
