Romania Becomes World Champion at the 2022 South Korea Fitness Championship

President of the Romanian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (FRCF), Gabriel Toncean, announced in a Facebook post that ten medals were won by Romanian athletes in the World Fitness Championship in South Korea. These included a gold medal won by Maria Sava for 1st place in the Women’s Bikini.

“Our adventure in South Korea has ended. We are proud to have once again honoured Romania abroad! We return with 10 medals from the World Fitness Championship. Our athletes won one gold medal, four silver medals and 5 medals of bronze. Congratulations, everyone!”

According to Toncean, amongst a few other awards the top ten were given for the following categories:

  • Maria Sava – 1st place Women’s Bikini, up to 160cm
  • Raluca Maria Velea – 2nd place Junior Women’s Artistic Fitness 16-23 years, open category
  • Raluca Biro – 2nd place in Women’s Physique, open category
  • Maria Zidarescu – 2nd place Junior Women’s Bikini 16-20 years, over 166cm
  • Roberta Nastase – 2nd place Junior Women’s Bikini 21-23 years, up to 160cm
  • Raluca Maria Velea – 3rd place finisher in Women’s Artistic Fitness, up to 163cm
  • Louis Popa – 3rd place Men’s Fitness, open category
  • Roberta Nastase – 3rd place Women’s Bikini up to 158cm
  • Lucian Popa and Narcissa Martin – 3rd place Fit-Pairs, open category
  • Gianina Suciu – 4th place in Women’s Acrobatic Fitness, up to 163cm
