Nicolae Ciuca, 53, former Chief of Staff of the Romanian Army and the current Minister of Defense, is the new interim PM after the resignation of the PM Ludovic Orban. His designation was announced on Tuesday, December the 8th.
Nicolae Ciuca is a former army general who, from 2015 to 2019, was the Chief of Staff, before entering politics. His political career is relatively short. His activity after his military discharge resumed to only his position as the Minister of Defense.
His mandate as a PM is expected to end after a new PM will be voted in Parliament.
