Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciuca meets the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on March 3, 2022, in Bucharest. The purpose of the official meeting is to discuss the security situation in Ukraine and the management of the refugee flow.
European Commission President’s visit to Bucharest confirms European Union’s solidarity and willingness to support Romania’s efforts to help Ukraine and its citizens.
On this occasion, Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca marked the interest in accessing European instruments for refugees.
The prime minister presented the perspective on the situation in Ukraine and its humanitarian impact, condemning the unprovoked, unjustified, and illegal military aggression by Russia on the neighboring sovereign state. The Prime Minister highlighted Romania’s Government’s action alongside institutional and non-governmental partners in managing the refugees from Ukraine. On this occasion, Nicolae Ciuca stressed the interest in accessing European instruments devoted to refugees
