Swimming World Magazine nominates David Popovici as the male newcomer swimmer of 2022. The magazine is the world’s most renowned publication dedicated exclusively to swimming. which awarded this nomination to a Romanian swimmer for the first time.
The double world winner David Popovici is registered with the prestigious Romanian athletes club, CS Dinamo, allowing him to access an exclusive gallery of famous people. Last year’s male winner was American Caeleb Dressel.
In this year’s competitions, Popovici took home two gold medals from the World Championships, two gold medals from the European Championships, three gold medals and one silver from the Junior World Championships, and four gold medals and one silver from the Junior European Championships.
