Censure Motion Against Romanian PM Cabinet To Be Voted Today

The cabinet of ministers were summoned by Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă, today, at 13.30. They will be present in the hall where the motion of censure will be voted. The censure motion called “The Dăncilă Government must be dismissed! Without GOs without access passwords and without queues” was submitted and read last week by Gigel Ştirbu, Liberal Deputy, in plenary.

The document is signed by 173 parliamentarians belonging to the PNL, USR, PMP, UDMR and non-affiliated groups. In order for the motion to be adopted, 233 favorable votes are needed. According to the calculations, Opposition MPs are: 93 – PNL, 40 – USR, 17 – PMP, 30 – UDMR, and PRO Romania 24, with a total of 204.

On the other hand, PSD has 208 MPs, while the ALDE – 31, with a total of 239 deputies and senators. Also, there are 17 national minority deputies, who may be attracted to the vote in the negotiations, as well as five non-attached MPs.

UPDATE: The Censure Motion hasn’t reached the necessary number of votes to be passed.
