Bucovina Ultra Rocks, One of the Few Ultramarathons of Over 100 Km in Romania

Bucovina Ultra Rocks, organized by ULTRA Life Sport Club and Sport Management Events, is a unique opportunity for runners to discover, by taking part at one of the 5 races, Ultra Rocks 105K, 4 Summits 80K, Lady’s Rocks 43K, Rocky 29K or Rumble Rock 15K, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Romania: Bucovina. Thus, the runners, both from the country and from abroad, were able to enjoy, during the day and during the night, the spectacular panoramas of the Rarău and Giumalău mountains that impress anyone with their wildness and authenticity.
Bucovina Ultra Rocks, which was organized during the last weekend, was a good opportunity for young and old, for corporate workers and for professional runners to enjoy the landscapes and to get satisfaction from accomplishing their objective: finishing the race.

It was a difficult race that not everyone could complete, but it was well worth it given the unique landscapes that surprised us at every step. The most interesting thing was that the organizers did it extremely well and were able to set up such an event respecting the rules imposed by the current situation of the pandemic. Moreover, they surprised us with adding 3 additional km at the end of each race, but even if the 90 kilometers covered left me without energy, the satisfaction that I reach the finish line does not compare to anything” said for Valahia News Mihai G., software developer at Finastra, one of the competitors at the 4 Summits 80k race.

Also, Larisa U., digital marketer at Tuya Digital, who competed at Rocky 29kK, told us: “These landscapes are absolutely enchanting. The feeling you have at the end, when you finish a route through the heart of the mountains, the panorama of the Lady’s Stones, the steepness and the grandeur of the rocks, were worth all the physical effort I put in’‘.

The longest race, the Ultra Rocks 105k, started at 12:00 am, the runners starting from Câmpulung Moldovenesc, and going to Rarău Peak (1650 m), Pietrosu Bistrița Peak (1793 m) and Giumalău peak (1857 m). For such landscapes and for such an effort, the names of the winners counted less.

The beauty of the Romanian mountain landscapes allow the organizing of such races and, if promoted properly abroad, there is no doubt that more and more foreign runners would enter the races and visit Romania.
