According to a press release from the Romanian Ministry of Tourism, Romania is among the 5 most sought after destinations by travel trends in 2020 in a top realized by the accommodation platform Airbnb. Romania was nominated along with USA, Thailand, Spain and Australia.
This is a tendency which the Romanian statistics already confirmed: the number of foreign tourists coming to Romania in 2019 increased by 10% comparing to 2018. Also, Romania is becoming a travel destination for the Romanians: 8% is the annual increase of the number of Romanian tourists who chose to spend their vacation in their own country.
Airbnb estimates an increase by almost 3 times in the number of reservations made on the travel platform by foreign tourists for Romanian destination in 2020 compared to 2019.
