Romanians have bought 50% more eco-friendly vehicles than last year

In the first 10 months of the year, Romanians have bought 50% more eco-friendly vehicles than in 2018, according to the Romanian Car Producers and Importing Association (APIA). In units, Romanians have bought this year 5,283 co-friendly cars, which means the eco segment has reached 3.7% of the market, compared to 2.7% last year.

Is it enough? Of course not, but it is a steady beginning for a country whose cities struggle to fight pollution as hard as they could.

Bucharest, for example, is one of the European cities to forbid entering the city center all the vehicles which don’t have Euro 4. Also, some of the vehicles will have to pay Oxygene vignette, which is meant to cover some expenses of the city in combating pollution effects.
