Romanians expected to buy goods worth of USD 280 mln during Black Friday 2019

According to a study made by the online payment platform PayU, this year Romanians will exceed with 20% the amount of money spent on Black Friday goods in 2018, meaning USD 279 mln. This study also shows that the online payments will be worth up to 30% of the total transactions, meaning USD 87 mln.

Black Friday has also become in Romania a most expected season deal, and online shops, along with physical retailers, compete each others in attractive offers every year.

According to e-shopping studies, the Romanian e-commerce market is worth USD 4.5 bln in 2019, with 1 bln more than in 2018. This is the result of a booming economy and of an increased purchased power, as pensions and salaries have been recently positively indexed in Romania. Also, an important cause is that the number of the Romanian e-shops has exceeded 15000 in 2018, according to a recent study.

Romania has become a more and more attractive country for all the potential investors in the e-commerce and retailing market, and Romanians are becoming more and more into shopping.
