Romanian National Air Transport Company Tarom is preparing to open long-haul flights to China and the United States, and the term of the proceedings will extend to about six months, Romania’s transport minister Răzvan Cuc announced on Monday.
“TAROM is working on preparing the China-United States (North America) long-flights. These routes must be grounded, airplanes that fly long courier must be brought in and all the process lasts approximately six months. We have to make sure that they will fly at an optimum loading level.”said Răzvan Cuc.
Asked if TAROM will buy a long-haul plane, Cuc replied: “This is TAROM’s job. The minister cannot make decisions on what the director of TAROM has to do. I know they are in full negotiations with various aircraft suppliers for the purchase of aircraft in a leasing system, as they have so far.”
