PES Leader, Serghei Stanishev, praises Romanian SDP – Social Democratic Party

Serghei Stanishev, the leader of the Party of the European Socialists, praised on Saturday both the Romanian governing party, SDP (Social Democratic Party) and its leader, Mrs. Viorica Dăncilă, the Romanian PM, during the exceptional congress of this political organization.

Mrs. Dăncilă was officially confirmed on Saturday as the party’s candidate for the presidential elections which are to take place later this autumn in Romania.

Serghei Stanishev stated the European socialists need a social Romanian representative in the European Council and he wants that place to be offered to Viorica Dăncilă, after winning the presidential elections. Also, Mr. Stanishev declared PES and SDP have improved their political ties due to Mrs. Dăncilă’s efforts, as the political connections were frozen in the past because of the divergences of opinions on justice matters.
