Romanian Prime Minister: Moldova Shows the Greatest Openness in Relations with Romania

During the joint meeting of the national governments of Romania and the Republic of Moldova, Prime Minister Ciuca underlined that this is the moment of the “greatest openness” ever in a relation between two countries.

The joint meeting of the two governments takes place when the latest opinion polls in Moldova show a rejection of Romania’s and Euro-Atlantic values. Only 30% of the Moldovans would vote for reunification with sister country Romania, while 46% are against their country joining NATO.

As Moldova declares its intention to adopt European values, the opinion polls show the Moldovan people would instead adopt something else. The most recent poll concluded that the socialists and communists would get 25% of the votes in Moldova. This is anything but European.
