Thousands of Romanians protest against the authorities and ask for the restrictions to be lifted. The protests begun on Monday, March 29, at midnight, in Bucharest. During the day, protesters from all over the country took to the streets in protests and in the evening the protests are still in development…
Protesters ask for freedom, burn medical masks and hold Romanian flags in hands.
Gendarmerie forces observe the manifestations and do not intervene. There was one participant arrested in Bucharest, but no other incidents were reported elsewhere in the country.
The reason behind the protests is the recent decision of the Government to tighten the restrictions. The rules have changed and in the red areas population is forbidden to get out between 20.00 and 5.00 in the morning, while the stores close at 18.00 on a daily basis.
The recent political polls in Romania show a drastic plunge of the people’s trust in the Governmental coalition and the current protests show that once more.
