Romania Offers Free Pilot License to Young People

Romania is the only country in Europe that offers free pilot’s licenses to young people up to 23 years old.

The 16 Aero Clubs in Romania offer a variety of activities, including gliding, parachuting, and motor flying. Young individuals can get their private pilot’s certificate and permission to fly motorized ultralight aircraft in Caransebes, the city of Romania.

The Aero Club of Romania is in charge of organizing the courses. One of the nation’s most seasoned pilots teaches the secrets of flight at Caransebes. Along with him, more than 20 young people who aspire to discover the sky participate in this activity’s free piloting course’s practical portion.

Typically, it costs several thousand euros to get a license for an ultralight aircraft. Twenty young people are now completing the practical portion of the course at Caransebes Airport, eventually receiving a pilot’s license for an ultralight aircraft. The best are those who were able to pass the theoretical portion. In essence, these Romanian kids train to be pilots before they reach the legal driving age.

Besides the fact that Romania is the only country in Europe that offers free pilot licenses, this is a unique opportunity for young Romanians who want to push their limits. This initiative is one of the most appreciated among young people, a way by which they create new skills but also make their first steps towards a possible career in piloting.
