The departure of Pope Francis leaves a profound void in the conscience of a troubled world, yet also a vast spiritual legacy. He was a leader who spoke to the heart, not only to reason. A man of faith, peace and moral courage. He left all these gifts to us, to all of us who will want to use them for a better world, here on earth. May God rest him in eternal light!

USR candidate Elena Lasconi wrote:
Pope Francis was and remains a landmark in a turbulent world. An example of determination and sacrifice, of kindness and understanding of those around us, of closeness to what seems different. His recent messages and personal examples have shown us that the Church can and must adapt to the times in which we live, that women deserve appreciation and respect, and that we can remain a point of support in moments when we feel that we are losing our confidence. “When women take over leadership, things go well!”, said Pope Francis a few days ago, known as the “People’s Pope”, in his brief statement after his discharge. Let us not forget his words, let us trust in our strength and let us not waste his lessons of tolerance, understanding and mutual respect. May God rest him in peace!
