Bucharest gathers 25 companies among the first 50 in this ranking of profits for the year 2023, according to termene.ro. Another five companies come from localities in Ilfov. Cluj-Napoca offers four of the most profitable comercial companies in 2023.
This is the conclusion of the most recent study compiled on the profitability of Romanian companies.
Top 50 Most Profitable Romanian Companies
1. The Company for the Production of Electric Energy Hidroelectrica – Bucharest
It made a profit of almost 6.3 billion lei in 2023.
The company’s object of activity is “electricity production.” It achieved a turnover of almost 12.3 billion lei and has 3,461 employees. The main shareholder is the Romanian state through the Ministry of Energy (80.0561%).
2. OMV Petrom – Bucharest
It made a profit of 3.94 billion lei in 2023.
The company’s business is “crude oil extraction” and it recorded a turnover of over 33.8 billion lei, with 7,228 employees. The main shareholder is OMV Aktiengesellschaft from Austria (51.1568%).
3. National Natural Gas Company “Romgaz” – Mediaș
In 2023, it made a profit of over 2.6 billion lei.
