Romania obtained a gold medal, four silver medals and a bronze medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad. Between July 11 and 22, 2024, the 65th International Mathematical Olympiad was organized in Bath, Great Britain.
The results obtained by the six students in Romania’s team are:
Gold medal: Pavel Ciurea from the Bucharest International Informatics High School
Silver medals: Andrei Vila, David-Andrei Anghel, Vlad-Titus Spǎtaru from the International High School of Informatics Bucharest and Andrei-Giovani Chiriță from the National College of Informatics “Tudor Vianu” Bucharest
Bronze medal: Aida Mitroi from the International High School of Informatics Bucharest
The Romanian delegation was coordinated by university professor Dr. Cătălin-Liviu Gherghe from the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of the University of Bucharest (Leader), lect. university Dr. Mihai Chiș from the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of the West University of Timișoara (Deputy Leader) and Lucian Țurea, the Romanian Society of Mathematical Sciences.
