Romania Wins Gold in Men Double Sculls, Silver in Women Double Sculls at Paris Olympics

Romanian duo Andrei Sebastian Cornea and Marian Florian Enache came from behind to take an impressive gold in the Paris 2024 Olympics men’s double skulls rowing final on Thursday, August 1, with a time of 6:12.58.

On the same day, Romanian rowers Ancuta Bodnar and Simona Radis on Thursday won silver in the women’s double sculls event at the Paris Olympic Games. The defending Olympic champions led at 1,000 metres but finished in second place in 6:50.69, being surpassed in the end by New Zealand (Brooke Francis, Lucy Spoors) in 6:50.45

Following these results, Romania climbs to 13 in the medal ranking at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

David Popovici won the previous medals for Romania in 200 and 100 m freestyle events.
