After being ousted from power following the no-confidence motion in Parliament, interim Prime Minister Florin Citu has drastically changed his political views and from an authentic liberal, he’s become more like a socialist.
The first socialist measure he decided to back up was to cap the price of energy in Romania. This is a socialist measure, originally proposed by the Social Democrats. Despite his vivid opposition to such a measure before being ousted from power, Florin Citu strongly supports the measure now.
The second socialist measure he decided to implement is the almighty Green Certificate for all the activities, disregard being essential or not. On Thursday he said to the journalists attending the press conference he would go for such a measure:
This is not restricting, this is just sorting. If you took the jab, or you have been through this disease or you have a test. I would go for using the Green Certificate in the stores as well. I would go for it!

Politics is not a virtue, as they say, but sometimes, when politicians go from one side to the other, we think we could call it else.
The current political crisis in Romania is far from being solved. The designated Prime Minister, Dacian Ciolos, is in no position to form a majority, and the interim Prime Minister Citu doesn’t have any political interest to help Ciolos accomplish the majority. Unless Ciolos is able to pass his Cabinet through Parliament, Romania is going to pass a long and difficult winter, socially, politically, and economically.
