School Starts in Romania, Minister Expects to Get Back to Online Classes in October

School starts in Romania on Monday, September 13th, but not all the students enjoy the in-person classes. Precisely, 3 million students get back to school, but almost 7,000 students are online for various reasons.

Some kids live in localities where the infection rate overpassed 6 per thousand inhabitants in the last 14 days, while others have their schools not yet ready for in-person classes.

The minister of Education announced that schools will be open for in-person classes as long as the infection rate doesn’t exceed 6 per thousand inhabitants in the last 14 days. According to specialists, in October this rate will be exceeded all over the country, making it impossible, according to regulations, for the classes to be held online. This is a scenario which the authorities want to avoid, but it’s almost impossible with the current acceleration of the 4th wave.

Students have to wear masks at all times while inside and special sanitary measures are taken to ensure the safety of the kids.
