GPT-4o Tested: It Is Enhanced with Human Capabilities

GPT-4o has just been launched by OpenAI, the mother company of all the GPT-based models. The latest version of the AI-based interface is even more human-like in its ability to replicate human abilities, including image description and speaking with human-like emotion.

GPT-4o (“o” for “omni”) is a step towards much more natural human-computer interaction—it accepts as input any combination of text, audio, and image. It generates any combination of text, audio, and image outputs. It can respond to audio inputs in as little as 232 milliseconds, with an average of 320 milliseconds, similar to human response time in a conversation. It matches GPT-4 Turbo performance on text in English and code, with significant improvement on text in non-English languages, while also much faster and 50% cheaper in the API. GPT-4o is significantly better at vision and audio understanding compared to existing models.

The latest version is superior to other AI tools, including the mostly praised Llama3 400b of Meta.

GPT-4o Tests

We tested its ability to analyze a picture and uploaded what we considered challenging for any language-based model. A non-advanced mode could’ve taken objects like actual ladybugs. However, GPT-4o correctly identified and understood them: Romanian “Martisoare” or March trinkets, as the English-speaking world calls them.

In a different test, we uploaded an image taken from GA4, the latest version of Google Analytics.

And the answer offered by GPT-4o was more than accurate. After identifying the table as being taken from Analytics, the model offered a short analysis of what had happened during the last 30 days with the website.

  • Organic Search is the largest source of sessions, with a significant volume of 36K, reflecting a healthy growth of 14.7%.
  • Direct sessions have increased by 20.4%, indicating more users directly navigating the site.
  • Organic Social has seen the highest relative growth, with a 126.5% increase, showing successful engagement on social media platforms.
  • Unassigned sessions have increased by 144%, though the total number is relatively low (61).
  • Organic Video sessions have grown by 50%, though the absolute number of sessions is minimal.

AI enthusiasts are frantic about the latest technologies, and their opinions do not favour human abilities compared to AI-based tools.

We have said it before: humans will be increasingly replaced by AI in the foreseeable future, and this industry will develop more rapidly than usually predicted. The impact of AI on marketing, web design, app development, and other industries is already visible, and we are witnessing the revolution of replacing humans with AI. The latest launch from OpenAI, GPT-4o, proves our point here – humankind should understand that the AI revolution is here – we either adapt or be replaced.

This brings up the question: are we going to be replaced by AI? What jobs have to suffer the most, and which will survive? What are we studying or specializing in? Should we all start enhancing our abilities with the help of AI, or should we keep ourselves apart and witness what’s happening?

The fact is that this revolution we are living in will impact human lives from now on. Jobs will be lost, millions will lose their monthly earning and corporations, and governments will start relying on AI more than anyone could’ve imagined one year ago. This will pose so many challenging situations that it’s high time we all start and understand that if we don’t rely on the latest technology, we’ll lose this momentum and much more.
