Each year, Financial Times publishes its FT 1,000 ranking of the fastest growing companies in Europe. The ranking from 2020, which has just been published, offers something which talks about the resilience of the companies during these hard times: the top provides a snapshot of Europe’s most promising growth businesses in the weeks before coronavirus took hold of the social and economic scene across the old continent.
Honorably, 6 Romanian companies make it to this ranking:
- Trencadis Corp on 327, technology company specialized in software development solutions for the government and business environment.
- Metaminds on 465, cybersecurity
- Starstone on 551, construction company
- Softelligence on 675, software engineering and automation services
- Klass Wagen on 787, travel and leisure company
- Easy Industry on 874, industrial goods manufacturer
As a comparison, last year’s ranking included 11 Romanian companies. Does it mean that the Romanian companies ceased to perform? Not at all!
The participation to the top is voluntary, meaning that the more companies register from a country, the more chances for the country to display more companies. Italy, for example, has 269 companies, while Germany has 203.
We bet there are more Romanian companies which could’ve reached to the ranking. Not only we bet, but we know for a fact there are more. It’s only they didn’t register for the ranking.
Let’s consider, for example, Elrond, a Romanian company developing solutions based on blockchain technology. The company had a tremendous growth recently, getting to a market capitalization of 1 Billion USD. If this isn’t fast growth, we don’t know what else could be.
On the other hand, let’s not forget that sometimes Romanian companies don’t know how to take pride in their results, a goal which they could achieve by entering this kind of rankings. By doing this, the Romanian companies could get more visibility, brand awareness and customers for their services and products.
