Romania’s vaccination capacity reached 115,000 people a day. The announcement was made by the Romanian PM on Tuesday, April 13.
Important news for Romanians! We promised, we delivered. Starting from today we have a vaccination capacity of 115,000 people a day. We encourage all of you to take the vaccine. It is the ONLY way to get rid of the pandemic. For getting back to normality as soon as possible, a general effort is needed. Only if we all get involve in it, if we are responsible and obey the sanitary rules, it is possible to live again our lives before the pandemic.

So far, Romania’s daily capacity had been at 65,000 doses a day, but the authorities promised to increase it such as to have 10.4 million people immunized by September.
According to statistics, in Romania there were administered more than 3 million doses of vaccine. More precisely, 1,435,730 persons received both doses of vaccine from a total of 2,326,484 persons.
The vaccination campaign has been running as planned so far, but the coordinators of the campaign admitted there could be a slowing down phase in the weeks to come. The fact is that the urban areas understood the call of the authorities, but in the rural areas there could be some problems because of the reluctance of the people living there.
One solution would be the Romanian Orthodox Church involvement, which is yet to come. Another solution for the rural areas was the use of Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which is to be administered in a single dose. This is to be decided upon later, as bad news arrive from the United States, where the Food & Drug Administration stopped the vaccination with Johnson & Johnson after severe effects involving the blood clotting secondary effects to women of all ages vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson.
