The new mascot of Romania’s National Football Team is a shepherd dog. This is part of PENNY’s hypermarket and Romanian Football Federation’s SUPORTERO campaign to support the National Football Team in its attempt to qualify for the Qatar World Cup 2022.
The Carpathian Shepherd is one of the oldest dog breeds used by the Romanian shepherds from ancient times. It symbolizes the strength, intelligence, and passion for football of the Romanian supporters.
Between 9-12 November, the mascot waits for name suggestions from the National Football Team fans.
On November 12th, Romania plays against Iceland at home in a match in Group J in the Qualifiers for the World Cup in Qatar 2022. If the home team wins, the chances of getting into the play-offs increase substantially.
