The famous train Orient Express crosses Romania these days. The train is currently going to Istanbul, leaving Romania on August 30. On September 3, the train will cross the Romanian territory again on its way back to Paris.
The train has two engines and fifteen cars. It goes from Paris to Istanbul and back in a 6,000 km journey.
The lucky or, better said, wealthy passengers, pay around EUR 20,000 for a six-day trip starting in Paris. The most extended stops are in Budapest, Bucharest and Sinaia, but passengers can see many other destinations along the way.
The luxury inside and the fact that the train is crossing an entire continent made it famous. The Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Cristie is just one book whose actions happen on the famous train that ignited the imagination of generations.
Orient Express returns to Romania after three years. Before the pandemic, the last time it crossed the Romanian territory was in 2019.
