The Executive Committee of the Romanian Football Federation approved, on Tuesday, by unanimous vote, the appointment of the coach Mirel Rădoi as the new coach of the national football team of Romania.
After the failure to qualify for the European Championship, which will be organized by Romania, followed by the resignation of former coach Cosmin Contra, the favorites to occupy this position were Hagi and Petrescu. But nonetheless, Mirel Rădoi was voted, the one who led Romania’s Under 21 team to the European Championship final last year.
Mirel Rădoi has 67 matches for the national team of Romania, for which he scored two goals. As a football player, he evolved most of his career at Steaua Bucharest, between 2000-2009, Al Hilal Riad, between 2009 and 2011, Al Ain, between 2011-2014.
