Romania’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coordinator: “Fourth Wave of Pandemic Inevitable”

The fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic is inevitable in Romania. This is the announcement made by Romania’s coordinator of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign on Tuesday, June 15.

It is important for the next month or the next month and a half to make sure we get to each locality (with the vaccination caravan) because the perspective of a fourth wave during the cold season, in the autumn, is as clear as it can and it is highly probable that the Delta string of the virus will become dominant.

It is not the first time when a high Romanian official talks about that. Before him, other specialists talked about the possibility of a fourth wave of COVID-19 in Romania. All the experts expect that to happen in the autumn, during the cold season.

If all these experts are right about it and in the autumn we’ll witness another wave of coronavirus, then they will also have to answer the question: is COVID-19 a seasonal viral disease, exactly as the flu? And if this is the case and we’ll have to live along with the new coronavirus, then somebody has to explain why all those restrictive measures were necessary for a seasonal viral disease.
