Ukrainian Cargo Sunk in Black Sea Near Romanian Waters, 10 saved, 1 missing, 2 dead

Ukrainian cargo VOLGO BALT 179 sunk in the Black Sea waters, 150 km away from the Romanian shore. Initial news reported a Russian boat, but it was later found it is actually Ukrainian.

At 4.40 AM, Thursday morning, the Romanian ship GSP Falcon received an SOS message from the Ukrainian ship Volgo Balt 179. The rescue mission, conducted in a very bad weather, stormy sea with 4 m height waves, succeeded in saving 10 sailors. Unfortunately, 2 persons already died and 1 person is missing.

A Russian cargo sank in the Black Sea waters, 150 km away from the Romanian shore. A Romanian ship was sent to help.
First news on the sight says one person died, one was injured while 10 were already rescued. The Russian cargo was loaded with coal and was sailing towards Constanta harbor.


The ship allegedly sank 150 km from our shore because of a strong storm. The rescue operations are undergoing.
