Study: Romania Has the Highest Number of Telemedicine Enthusiasts in E.U.

Telemedicine can be anything from talking with a doctor through Skype to looking at X-rays remotely with an app on your phone. The most common form of treatment is video calls with health professionals like doctors, therapists, and nurses.

The benefits of telemedicine are that patients can receive treatment without leaving their homes or without traveling long distances to see a doctor. It also saves time because more patients can be seen in an hour than if they had come into the office for an appointment.

According to L’Observatoire Cetelem’s study, Romania has the highest number of telemedicine enthusiasts in E.U. Why? Because telemedicine is easier, quicker, and more convenient than a classic doctor appointment.

In Romania, among telemedicine platforms, there are projects such as Medic Chat and Recomedica.

Recomedica gathered 287,500 EUR for their platform on SeedBlink. On Recomedica, you receive guidance and connect with doctors and healthcare professionals worldwide. With more than 350 specialized medical professionals under the same umbrella and growing, Recomedica provides medical advice and recommendations to users posting an average of 300 requests daily.

Unfortunately, only 28% of Romanians think that telemedicine works in their country. Their pessimism comes from the lack of education, money, and the insecurity of finding out the diseases they suffer from. According to statistics, Romanians who chose telemedicine are people up to 44 years old, who live in big cities and have children.

The future of telemedicine services will be more accessible and less expensive. Telemedicine services have been on the rise, as it is an effective way to provide medical care to patients in rural areas. With the advancement of technology, these medical professionals will be able to provide even better and faster service.
