Do You Fancy a Poetry Trip while Visiting Bucharest?

Bucharest’s new summer event, ‘Bookuresti Tram,’ will delight its residents and tourists. Bucharest lovers will enjoy five urban-poetic journeys on vintage trams (on line 1) each Saturday between July 23rd and August 20, 2022, as announced by Visit Bucharest.

Line 1 will see the revival of the vintage tram, based on the bus service from Bucharest. The tram will run every day for five weeks, from Saturday, July 23, 2022, to Sunday, August 20, 2022. Participants get a return trip on the Depoul Dudesti-Bd route. Banu Manta-Depoul Dudesti without stopping at stations. The trip lasts approximately two hours and includes stories and histories about the route, which are supported by Anita Stere/ Ioana Popa. It also includes readings and conversations about poetry and its relationship to Bucharest moderated by Raisa Beicu, Anca Vancu or Elena Vladareanu, and musical moments from jazz, classical, and interwar areas.

‘Bookuresti Tram is a continuation of the project ‘The Poetry Tram,’ which won Gala for Innovation in 2019. This second edition is presented in a new format and aims to encourage people to connect with their city through a unique urban poetic experience.

You can purchase tickets for the ‘Bookuresti Tram” trip online at arcub.ro or bilet.ro as well as at the ARCUB ticket office located on Lipscani street 84–90. Price: EUR 5 (25 lei-seat), respectively EUR 3 (15 lei-standing position).
