Jazz Festival Returns in Bucharest

Bucharest Jazz Festival returns this September with brand new performances and live sessions for every jazz music fan.

The theme of 2022’s edition is Romanian jazz. It is organized by musicologist and journalist Florian Lungu, a well-known figure in the local jazz scene who has recorded, lived through, and seen many of the events that have shaped the history of autochthonous jazz.

At the Bucharest Jazz Festival, from September 16 to 18, jazz music lovers will hear emerging stars in Romanian jazz, well-established performers, and international musicians. The ninth edition of the Bucharest Jazz Festival, which returns after a two-year hiatus, is devoted to Romanian jazz and offers the jazz audience a new venue in Combinatul Fondului Plastic. The ARCUB – Cultural Center of the Municipality of Bucharest, The Institute, the Union of Artists Plastics from Romania, and the Combined Plastic Fund support the 2022 Bucharest Jazz Festival, which is one of the “Bucharest Days” activities.

Young Blood Jazz Musicians‘ concerts from Friday, September 16, present artists from the new wave of Romanian jazz. Saturday the 17th of September is the evening of Jazz Diaspora concerts dedicated to Romanian jazzmen from Germany, France and the Republic of Moldova. And on Sunday, September 18, the Jazz concerts are scheduled by Virtuoso, supported by big names of jazz from our country.

Every jazz enthusiast is welcome. The entry is free, so if you have some free time to listen to top-notch music, you should surely go and enjoy one of Romania’s most eagerly awaited jazz music events.
