2022 FIFA World Cup qualification (UEFA): Romania – Armenia 1:0

Romania defeated Armenia by one goal in a game held in Bucharest on Monday, October 11, and keeps its chances to finish second in Group J.

The goal was scored in min. 26 by Alex Mitrita and it was enough to rank Romania second in group, ahead of North Macedonia, which lost at home against Germany, and Armenia.

The second place in the qualifying group doesn’t automatically send the team to Qatar 2022 World Cup. Yet, it offers the team the chance of playing a series of play-off games and qualify.

For Romania, there are two more games to be played, against Iceland and Liechtenstein. Germany is already qualified, while Romania, North Macedonia, and Armenia still hope for second place.
