Expanding its reach, international company Piletilevi Group, which bought a majority stake in Bilete.ro in the summer of 2023, is emerging as the biggest player in Central Europe.

Piletilevi Group is buying a majority stake in two Polish ticket sales companies – kicket and Biletomat – which became, after the merger, the second largest ticket sales company on the Polish market as well as the most significant player in Central Europe, brokering tickets for nearly 320 million euros per year.

According to Sven Nuutmann, co-owner and CEO of Piletilevi Group, Piletilevi Group is buying kicket.com and Biletomat.pl, well-known players in the Polish market.

With this transaction, Piletilevi Group now owns a 77 percent stake in the purchased companies, increasing to 83.8 percent by 2026. We now face the task of effectively connecting the companies that are being purchased and our existing company GoOut Poland, so that the best functionalities of Piletilevi Group and the new partners reach all our customers as quickly as possible.
Sven Nuutman, CEO of Piletilevi Group

He added that the emergence of a ticket brokering company with strong market power on the Polish market will give the organizers financial security, supplement competition and offer a more diverse selection of cultural events to a larger audience. “A ticketing system that has uniform standards and is connected across countries will significantly improve international cultural exchange,” Nuutmann said, adding that the conditions offered to event organizers so far will remain valid even after the merger of the companies.

According to Nuutmann, the technological level of the sales platform of the Polish companies being purchased is very good. It will also speed up the completion of the new platform of Piletilevi Group, in which the company has invested nearly six million euros. Piletilevi’s new platform will be completed in the first half of 2025.

According to Maciej Wartacz, kicket’s CEO and Konrad Kubaczewski, Biletomat’s CEO, managers of the Polish companies that joined Piletilevi, the partnership with Piletilevi Group, which has become the most significant player in Central Europe, will ensure the continued development of the companies and provide the opportunity to offer event organizers even more effective support in event marketing and ticket sales.

I have known Konrad for more than six years, and our mutual intention was always to merge and consolidate the industry in Poland. Thanks to Piletilevi Group and BaltCap private equity fund, we can finally make it happen and become Poland’s second largest ticketing company, a market worth more than 1 billion euros in tickets sold per year.
Maciej Wartacz, kicket’s CEO

Piletilevi Group, the largest ticketing environment in the Baltic states, started expanding vigorously in Central Europe in summer 2023, when it first bought a majority stake in one of the largest ticketing companies in Romania, Bilete.ro, and then also in the Czech market leader GoOut.net.

Bilete.ro has been operating on the Romanian market for 18 years, selling over 2 million tickets annually. The main areas served are cultural events, sports, concerts and festivals, children’s entertainment and theatre.

The Piletilevi Group, owned by entrepreneur Sven Nuutmann’s investment company EastCom Capital and BaltCap, the largest private equity investor in the Baltics, is an international ticket sales and event organization company that operates in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. The company celebrated its 27th successful year of operation this year.

PiIetilevi Group operates in a market with a population of 79 million people. The volume of brokered tickets has grown to 17 million tickets with a total value of 320 million euros and the annual volume of visits to all websites is growing to 116 million per year. Piletilevi Group employs nearly 250 people.

Romania looks up to Estonia for the level of digitalization achieved by the Baltic country. This is the conclusion drawn from the official declaration of the Romanian president during his official visit to Estonia.

It is well-known that Estonia is a champion when it comes to e-governing and digitalization. Estonia is way ahead of us in terms of e-government systems, digital services for the citizens and the security of the digital networks,, and we have so much to learn from them. I am optimistic regarding a cooperation in this field.
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis in Tallinn

The two presidents, Klaus Iohannis and his counterpart, Kersti Kaljulaid, met in Tallinn, at the Kadriorg Palace on Wednesday, June 16. One of the subjects regards the know-how of the Estonian Government for e-governing and digitalization of the public services.

The Romanian president was not exaggerating: in Estonia, 99% of the state services can be accessed online and 70% of the Estonian citizens use the ID card regularly. More data about their performance can be found on e-estonia.com.

But, apart from the public sector, Estonia is also a prosperous society for digital nomads and digital entrepreneurs worldwide. Estonia already has 5 unicorns from the IT sector and the country was ranked the best country in the world in 2017 by the World Economic Forum for its entrepreneurial environment.

Read more about the Digital Nomad program in Estonia or, why not, about the digital nomad opportunity in Romania. Thus, you can compare the two countries in terms of opportunities for the digital nomads and pick up the right one.

We’re happy to announce that Estonia is launching a new Digital Nomad Visa that allows remote workers to live in Estonia and legally work for their employer or their own company registered abroad.

This is how the announcement of the Estonian Government, which was recently published on their dedicated webpage, starts persuading the digital nomads from the EU countries and some others to come and work in Estonia, even if they do it for their companies abroad.

On short, if you live in Romania, for example, and you are tired of finding out that the EU countries close their borders for you or ask for mandatory quarantine on arrival, this is an opportunity if you are a digital nomad. Estonia offers digital nomad visa of up to 1 year, during which you can live and work on Estonian territory for whichever company in the world. Besides, you can also travel freely worldwide, proving you live in Estonia. At this moment, Estonia is one of the countries which handled the pandemic very well and there are no or very few restrictions for Estonian citizens.

It is not the first innovation of this kind from the Estonian Government, though. Estonia has been offering e-visas through e-Residence digital nomad program since 2014. More than 70,000 foreigners have chosen to get a digital nomad visa in Estonia and the program brought more than EUR 40 million for the Estonian state so far.

Interested? Fill in this form and go for it! The application fee is up to 100 Euros for the long stay visa (Type D), but it could be only 80 Euros for the short stay (Type C).
