Romania lost the match against the Netherlands on Tuesday, July 2, 0-3, but the Romanian team succeeded in having a formidable start. For 15 minutes, Romania attacked fiercely, and the Dutch team had no other option but to defend.

The swift goal of Belgium influenced the first half of the match played in Cologne. Belgium scored through Tielemans in 2′ after a pass from Lukaku, and Niță, the Romanian hero-goalkeeper, could not save the shot from 16 meters.

On Saturday, December 2nd, Romania was drawn to play against the two national teams and against the team that will qualify after playoff B. Play-off B is disputed among four national teams: Israel – Iceland and Bosnia-Ukraine. The winners will play in the play-off final and qualify for the final tournament.

Kosovo had a disallowed goal after VAR showed the referee one of the Kosovar players was offside when receiving the ball. Both teams had opportunities to score, but the game ended 0-0.
